Itching to Paint

As most of you know, the winter trimester was my very first painting class. I never painted with oils before then, and I was never taught how to paint. I was so excited about that class. I learned so much about myself through painting, and now it is one of my favorite things to do.

I have been out of that class for about three weeks now. Since the class, I have volunteered to paint a mural on the wall of one of the Sunday school rooms at my church, volunteered to be on the painting/decorating commity for my church's VBS, and I have continued to work on ideas for my series of paintings based on "The love song of J. Alfred Prufrock."

I am pretty sure painting has changed my life. It has certainly changed the way I see the world. I am so excited about what I want to do now, instead of procrastinating because it is "homework".

Painting has also encouraged me to try harder to do well in other areas, like photography, drawing, and general school work. I have learned that if i can do well and barely try, than I can excel if I try my hardest.

I look forward to the years ahead of me. I can not wait to be the artist that I can become.

  1. I know.. the oil painting was very challenged for me and you :( I used to paint with water colour and acrylic, compare with these two, the oil takes long time to dry .. hard to mix colors and match the color relationships.. but, we did best!
I wanna look at your mural on the wall~ you should take a photo and upload on your blog:)
